With thanks to programme sponsors, Portsoy Thrift Shop, an exciting programme for children and the young at heart will be brought together, with events to be found throughout the town from the Salmon Bothy to the Wally Green and Loch Soy – and everywhere in between!

At The Wally Green

Starting the day on Saturday and Sunday, ditch the workout and join the party, Zumba with James gets the party started. A total workout moving to the music, no rhythm required! All ages welcome to come along and join in the fun in the Wally Green Marquee.

Look out for the Balloon Mannies who will be walking around the Wally Green area inside and outside the Marquee and stopping to make their exciting balloon creations. They will also be performing their walk around magic.

On Saturday meet the Scottish Exotic Animal Rescue team. Get hands on and learn all about the amazing exotic animals. The charity was founded by Nick Martin and is based at Harbour Road, Nairn. The charity takes in exotic animals of all shapes and sizes from members of the public, police seizures, the SSPCA and RSPCA. They are entirely funded by donations.

On Saturday, take part in the Viking Parade leaving the Wally Green at 2pm.  Be sure to come in Viking fancy dress and bring along your home-made shield, or make one beforehand at the Mobile Library Van at The Salmon Bothy.  Prizes for the best shield and best dressed Vikings!

On Sunday afternoon the Wally Green Marquee will be party central!  Meet Spiderman and Ariel, get your face painted and get a glitter tattoo. Love Rara Ltd will have fun, games and lots of dancing.  Parents welcome too!

In the Marquee, throughout Sunday see the award winning McFlea Flea Circus, the only flea circus in the north east of Scotland! Based on the theme of circus, our star Hercufleas and his other performers astound the audience with incredible feats of strength and skill. The ringmaster will entertain with music, silly situations, jokes and terrible puns. Among the incredible feats you will ‘see’ the fleas perform are the high wire with dumbbells and the flea cannon. Backscratchers will be available at the end of the show!  (No animals are harmed in the training or performance of the show!).

Jump for the sky on our bouncy castles and win a prize at the ring a bell stall.

Look out for the bus stop where the Wee Red Bus will be tooting its horn ready to take you on a journey around the Festival streets in miniature style on both days!

Visit the Friends of Anchor stand to join the Anchor Treasure Hunt, collect a map and find the anchors located around the Festival area on Saturday and Sunday.

 Teddy Bears Picnic

On Saturday and Sunday at 1.00pm there will be a Teddy Bears Picnic. Storyteller, Derek Merson will be at the Home-Start Deveron tent in the Wally Green. Remember to bring your teddy!

Opposite the Salmon Bothy

Aberdeenshire Mobile Library Service will be in attendance on Saturday and Sunday with the mobile library. Pop in and listen to a tale or two from our wonderful storyteller, Derek Merson.

On Saturday morning prepare for a Viking invasion and make your own Viking shield for the parade from the Wally Green at 2pm. If you just want to stop for a while and chill there will also be Lego available for you to make your own sea monster.

On Saturday and Sunday, Aberdeenshire Rangers will hosting a scavenger hunt from the Mobile Library Van. On Saturday from 10am-11am, 11.15am-12.15am and 12.30pm-1.30pm and on Sunday 11.15am-12.15pm and 12.30pm-1.30pm. Collect some items to take back to the Mobile Library Van and take part in arts and crafts and a quiz. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. On Sunday we have two fantastic storytellers from the Grampian Association of Storytellers, Diana Peers and Maggie Fraser. They will be based in the catering tent opposite the Bothy and you might find them around the Festival telling stories of the sea, smuggling, pirates, treasure, fishing, Vikings and much more.

We also have the very popular bungee trampolines, teacups and the bumper carz.
